HANDMADE GAMES
Because fun is an important element of life, and often overlooked in importance, Les Vieux Jours added game making to
its repetoire. (Following the childhood compulsion to make games, of course)

This game set zips and snaps itself up into a purse made from medieval tapestry patterned fabric - for easy game portability. Unzip the purse, and the board is on the inside. The game pieces are made from recycled bottlecaps which feature heraldic images in either red or white (king VS queen) and glitter. Even the beer types on the caps correspond - the queen has Smithwick's castles, the King has Killian's horseheads. the pieces are contained in a handmade box fashioned from recycled cardboard and lined with colorful brocade.
The custom checker set inspired a lot of custom orders. Below are pictures of one of the custom sets I've made. |

SENET |
Senet, an very ancient egyptian game, is featured here, made out out recycled paper and reused cardboard. It comes in a handmade box and includes a 30 square board, 10 playing pieces, 4 throwing sticks, and a rule sheet.
The board is made from illustration board and handmade paper which has been both painted and varnished. The playing pieces are recycled bottlecaps which have been painted, and feature either an owl or a serpent stamped upon papyrus, accented with glitter and sealed in with clear resin. A fun and addictive game of strategy for 2 players. |
