HANDMADE PAPERS

My fascination with handmade paper started as frustration with the amount of the stupid checks
they send you in the mail with some credit card offers. We were too lazy to stick them in our paper shredder
so they built up and we had to put them in a bag. Somewhere along the way, I got into the idea of handmade paper
for a book project so I experimented with brownbags, white paper, and book pages - Brown Chunk being the result.
Ecstatic that I could made something cool out of crap, I then sorted all the hecks and junk mail in the bag by color
and started making it all into paper.

All my papers are 100% recycled content (outside of some of the dyes used) and the mixture
is basically made up of whatever junk mail consists of. I also use copy paper, colored flyers, etc. Is it acid free?
Only as acid free as the original items were. Anything that is GREY - (only the grey fiber, really) has a little bit of high quality
newsprint (grocery store circulars) and is probably not acid free. If you are worried about the paper
ruining your prized 1910 photo of Grandma Agnes then you'd best not use it for that purpose ( or make a copy
of the photo and then use it. Just keep in mind that not everything wonderous and beautiful is made to outlive you. :)
